OPDC | Management Consultancy, Development and Training for Individuals and Organisations.

Dr David Kearney

David is the founder of OPDC. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Business Consulting and has over 25 years of consulting and facilitation experience with global and national companies. He has worked with organisations in Europe, North America and Asia-Pac across a variety of sectors including aerospace, construction, defence, energy, financial services, IT solutions, pharmaceutical, retail and transport.

He is experienced in working with Boards and senior teams helping them to work more cohesively as a team, develop competitive strategies and implement and monitor these. David works both as a consultant and as a facilitator of personal and organisational change. His approach is that of a true partner, building long term relationships with managers and their organisations, typically taking responsibility for many different initiatives within a single company.

David has lived, worked in or worked with over 30 different cultures. He works with cross-cultural, dispersed teams to resolve difficulties and raise their business performance.

David draws on his own research and global best practice to build programmes and events that make a difference and achiever their goals. For example, his expertise in negotiating skills (covering relational and commercial aspects) has placed him consistently, over the past 10 years, as one of the three top-scoring consultants in the prestigious Institute of Directors in the UK.

His clients have included: AIB; Airbus; Allergan; Arup; Augusta Westlands; Baugur Group; BAE Systems; CGI; Commerzbank; Costain; Deutsche Bank; DORMA; EDF; EMI; Ernst and Young; France Telecom; GlaxoSmithKline; Harrods; Hewlett Packard; Institute of Directors; Lock Fyne; Motorola; Santander; Screwfix; Senior; Siemens; Singapore Institute of Management; Southern Railways; Swiss Re; Telia; Thales, and Ultra Electronics.

David lives in Somerset, and is married with three grown up children. In his spare time he plays guitar, and enjoys woodwork: making and restoring furniture, guitars, mandolins and lutes. However, as a result of more and more grandchildren, he makes fewer musical instruments and more wooden toys.
